An Investment Fund is a form of investment through which several investors put their money into a common Fund, in order to constitute an Equity. Investors in the fund are called share-holders, and the unit of measure of their investment is the unit of ownership that varies in price every day, generating a return for the investor.

Investment funds invest in securities registered in the Stock Market, such as bank certificates, commercial paper, bonds, government bonds, among others.
What is the return on investment in an investment fund?
The return on investment in an investment fund is given by the increase or decrease in the Value of the Participation unit hence its performance is variable. The investor must compare the price at which he bought his Participation units with the current value thereof to know the result of his investment.

What entity regulates the investment funds?
Investment funds and fund managers are regulated by the Superintendence of Companies, Securities and Insurance, specifically by the Stock Market Administration.
What documents does the investor receive when investing in an investment fund?
The investor receives the contract of incorporation to the fund and its regulations at the time of the opening of the fund. Additionally, and for each new investment you make, you will receive a contribution certificate that will include the detail of the investment made and an investment form that must be signed and delivered to the fund manager as acceptance of the investment made.
